Thank you for your interest in Powernet and its products. We have compiled some frequently asked questions that may help you troubleshoot your issues when selecting, purchasing, or using our devices. If you don't find what you're looking for here, we invite you to call our support team for assistance any time.


How do I connect to a Wi-Fi network?

To set up a Wi-Fi network:

  • Go to Settings > Wireless & Networks.
  • Enable Wi-Fi by tapping the OFF button to change it to ON.
  • Add a Wi-Fi network by tapping ADD NETWORK in top-right corner of screen, or by selecting a network from the list.
  • If the Wi-Fi network is password protected, enter the password.
The tablet will now automatically connect to this network whenever it is within range.

How do I register my tablet for the warranty?

Note: You will need the serial number from the back of the tablet.

How do I set up parental controls?

There are no parental controls on the tablet. However, there is an app in the Google Play Store called Parental Control. You may be able to select many free parental control apps.

How do I return my tablet?

Contact Customer Support at 1.866.866.4897, and we will assist you.

How do I set up a Gmail account?

  • Go to Settings > Accounts > Add Account.
  • Then tap on Google.
  • Follow the screen prompts to either create a new account or sign in to an existing account.

How do I sync my email?

  • Go to Settings > Accounts > Add Account.
  • Select Email.
  • Enter Address and password.
  • Click Next or use manual setup.

Why can't I access Google Play?

You must have a Gmail account set up in order to use Google Play.

How do I complete a system back-up of all my data?

  • Go to Settings > Personal > Back & Reset > Back up my data.

How do I download a new app?

  • Select the Google Play icon on the apps screen or go to the website
  • Search for the app you want to install and select it. (The item detail screen will appear and you can read more about the app.)
  • To install the app, select the FREE button, or for paid apps select the PURCHASE button.
  • Press OK to accept the permissions.

App will begin downloading immediately.

Does my tablet support the use of third-party apps?

Yes. To allow third-party apps:

  • Go to Settings > Personal > Security.
  • Under Device Administration, select Unknown sources.
  • Tap Unknown sources to enable it.

How do I access an app after downloading?

Downloaded apps will be available in the app launcher on your tablet.

How do I uninstall an app?

  • Go to Settings > Apps.
  • Across the top you can select to see All, Downloaded, Running, or SD Card.
  • Select the application to uninstall.
  • On the next screen, select Uninstall.

Can I re-download a paid app without being charged again?

Yes, you can reinstall a paid app without being charged again. To resinstall an app that has been removed from your tablet:

  • Go to Google Play.
  • Select Download My Apps on the first screen.

All purchased apps will be downloaded/updated to the tablet.


How do I change the wallpaper?

  • Go to Settings > Display.
  • Select Wallpapers.
  • Select from the options to view wallpaper choices.
  • After wallpaper selection is made, tap Set Wallpaper.

How do I adjust the contrast or brightness?

  • Go to Settings > Display > Brightness.
  • Make desired adjustment.

How do I set a home page?

  • While browser is open, launch the options menu.
  • Select Settings > Set Home Page.
  • Select the desired option.

How do I change the system font size?

  • Go to Settings > Display > Font size.
  • Select the desired font size by tapping Small, Normal, Large or Huge.

How do I move apps to the home screen (create shortcuts)?

  • Select the Application launcher to view all apps.
  • Select the app you wish to move to your home screen by touching and holding it.
  • The selected item will move to your home screen.
  • To remove an app from home screen, touch it and hold, and drag it to the top of the screen to the word Remove.

How do I take pictures with the tablet camera?

  • Go to Applications > Select the Camera icon.
  • To take picture, tap the round circle icon.

Where are pictures stored?

  • Launch the applications.
  • Go to File Manager > DCIM > Camera.
  • Tap the picture you wish to view.
  • From this picture, you can "slide" through all pictures.

How do I delete pictures?

  • After completing the above steps, tap the picture to bring up the menu at the bottom of the screen.
  • Select Menu.
  • Select Delete.

How do I send pictures to an email?

  • Repeat the above steps.
  • Selecting Menu will display a "Share" option.
  • Select Share, and options will appear to send to any email accounts that are set up.

How do I take a video?

  • To switch from camera to video, select the movie camera icon.
  • To switch back to camera, select the camera icon.

What should I do if my tablet won't turn on/boot up?

  • Press the power button for one second to check if tablet is in sleep mode.
  • If that doesn't work, plug your tablet into the charger and the charger into the wall to verify whether your tablet's battery is charged. If the battery is not charged, allow it to charge for several minutes before attempting to power the tablet on.
  • If the tablet still does not turn on, press and hold the power button for 5 seconds to try to reboot the tablet.
  • If problems persist, please call our Support Team at 1.866.866.4897 for assistance with troubleshooting.

What should I do if my tablet screen is locked and won't respond to anything?

  • Reboot the tablet by holding the power button down for 20 seconds and then releasing it. The tablet should refresh/reboot.
  • If the above step doesn't work, use a small paperclip or similar item to press the Reset button located on side of tablet (labeled "Reset").

Note: If the user has many opened and running apps, this could cause the tablet to appear as if it's not responding. The tablet is actually trying to process all the apps. Please be patient.

What should I do if my tablet does not respond to touch?

  • Reboot the tablet by holding the power button down for 20 seconds and then releasing it. The tablet should refresh/reboot.
  • If the above step doesn't work, use a small paperclip or similar item to press the Reset button located on side of tablet (labeled "Reset").

What should I do if the battery won't charge or stay charged?

  • First confirm that the charger is plugged into a working outlet and completely inserted into the tablet.
  • If that doesn't work, the charger may be defective. Please contact Customer Support at 1.866.866.4897 for a replacement charger.

If the replacement charger doesn't charge the tablet, further troubleshooting will be required. Contact Customer Support again at 1.866.866.4897 and they will determine if your tablet should be authorized for return.

Why is there no sound coming from the tablet?

  • Press the volume Up button, located on the top left of the tablet, to make sure the volume is turned up. (Pressing Down decreases the volume.)
  • If you're using headphones, unplug and then plug them in again. Be sure to push the plug all the way in.

Why does my tablet keep turning off?

  • If the tablet isn't being actively used, it will go into sleep mode. Hold the power button for one second to wake the tablet. You can adjust the sleep mode timing by going to Settings > Display > Screen Timeout.
  • If if turns off while being used, it could be an app causing an issue. Note which app was in use at the time to determine if problems are associated with that app.

Why can't I connect/stay connected to Wi-Fi?

  • In Settings, check that Wi-Fi is enabled (turned on) and that the tablet is connecting to desired wireless network.
  • You may also try disabling the mobile network. In Settings, go to Wireless & Networks, go to More. Then select Mobile networks. Disable (turn off) Data Enabled and Data Roaming.

Why can't I access the Internet even though I have a strong Wi-Fi signal?

  • Make sure you are connecting to the correct Wi-Fi network. (Note: Secure websites cannot be accessed over open Wi-Fi networks. You must be on a secured network to access secure sites.)
  • Go to Settings and disable Wi-Fi, then enable it again.
  • Make sure your Wi-Fi access point or router is functioning correctly.

What should I do if I receive a "download unsuccessful" message when I try to download an app?

  • Go to Settings > Applications.
  • Select All.
  • Go to Google Play.
  • Select Clear Cache.

Why can't I access my email?

  • Go to Settings > Add Account.
  • Check that the email account is set up correctly. See setup instructions.
  • Ensure that your email is set to Auto-Sync.

Why won't the screen rotate?

  • Check in Settings > Display to make sure Auto-Rotate Screen is enabled.
  • Be aware that some apps may not support screen rotation. If it won't rotate while using a certain app, it is likely that is not an available feature in that app.

What should I do if my music won't download or sounds garbled when playing?

  • Check to see which app you are using to download music. Verify that the app is compatible with your Android Operating System.
